I was delighted to present Mr and Mrs Morgan with their commissioned painting, ‘Clavell Tower – the original’ at the weekend.
Kimmeridge Bay holds special memories for Mrs Morgan, who asked me to paint this piece having seen my pen & ink drawing of the tower at my recent solo exhibition at the Hatch Gallery Christchurch.
Painted in acrylics on 12×16” canvas board, from my sketches of the current tower – I choose to portray the tower in its unrestored condition, in its original edge-of-cliff location. Which I felt would be poignant for the couple.
